Good deal?

hey bought from a used car dealer it literally came of the transport truck that day it

it was the same kind of deal as you he wanted a towrig for his Bronco and found this of course the dodge wheels better than the bronco now LOL

:haha::haha:

This is something I don't want to talk about as it's gone through my head a couple times (what if?) I don't know if I could justify my tow rig being a better wheeler than my blazer. Maybe I'll get a cheaper tow rig and use the extra $$ to get some lockers for preventative measures :D

well his bronco has a oldschool 9" superlift with 2" dropped coil buckets a 3" bodylift and 38" mickey thompsons on 14" wide wheels LOL it looked straight out of Fourwheeler circa 1989 LOL

I know the transmission needs to be serviced/replaced/rebuilt at around 150k on these (from what i've heard), but if you guys were to buy a cummins, how many miles is TOO many miles assuming nothing has been replaced, just regular service.

if its a 98 or older 12 valve you need to have the KDP done or seriuos damage to the geartrain could result but other than that there pretty rocksolid

trackbars and balljoints are an issue on these trucks too but theres tons of aftermarket stuff to fix them

on 98.5 to 2002 cummins you need to watch the lift pump if it goes out it can ruin the VP44 injection pump and the infamous "53" casting 24 valve blocks that are prone to cracking in the outer water jacket on the pasenger side benath the turbo

yeah its nice it has a leveling kit but not a body lift thats a decent price being a 98 it could be a 12 valve or a 24 valve I'd offer 9000.00 and see what they say

hmmm... well I'm pretty damn sure this is a good deal but I'd like to share:

1997 Dodge 2500 club cab long bed 4x4 12v diesel 160,000 miles comes with a grill gaurd, camper shell (paint matched) and it looks like there's a lift on it (not sure). It's been used as a farm truck so it's probably got some good scratches/dents but I don't really care about that stuff

He said there hasn't been any tranny work (only thing i'm worried about) but the price is right :D:D $5000 (might even go lower)

you could do the body work and some tranny upgrades and still be under 10,000

Just the normal used car stuff and the things mentioeded above

no problem the only thing better than a dodge with a cummins is a Solid Axle chevy with a Cummins LOL

Sold my truck in a day to jump on this, went and looked at it and it was a steaming pile of sh** and he didn't even have the damn title. Oh well, now I've got the cash for when something GOOD comes my way (which it better!!)

Good thing about the Cummins motor besides milage out of them is they will normally last up to or past 300K. My family has around 7 Dodge truck from various years and they all do well on fuel milage and the 90 model has over 300K on it and still runs great getting 20-21MPG. Diesel cost more but will get almost double the milage while pulling heavy loads then a V10.
