Well, I don't want to get rid of my tractor, but I found something I've always wanted.

85 K20 6.2, I spoke to the guy and he said would be interested in a trade for a small diesel tractor, which I do have, but really don't want to get rid of, but supposedly there is only 107,000 miles on the whole truck.

His dad bought the truck new, and this guy took it to Colorado twice in the last year.

Here is the craigslist ad.

Whats your tractor worth? I wouldnt consider that truck worth $2800 in a million years. Maybe 5 years ago but the market for a typical or semi decent square body is just not what it used to be. I mean you can buy OBS chevys for $1000-$2000 all day long now.

The tractor is my little toy, a 1983 Mitusubishi MT372, 2 clyinder diesel.

We paid something like $2300 for it a about 8 years ago.

And compared to what people want for these trucks around here, $2800 is not bad.
Last week there was a guy selling a 78 K10 that had no floor, no reverse in a TH350, a bed that flapped in the wind, and he sold it for $3500 in less than a day.
There is a guy selling a decent M1008 for $5000, it just doesn't have a bed, and he got offered $4200 by a friend of a friend of mine, and he sold it for $4200!

Thats a 3000.00 truck all day long up here.

I'd counter offer the truck and 500.00 for your tractor worse thing he could say is no

Yeah :D That truck is priced good for my location as well, granted it ran and drove just fine. Still getting used to the change in price. In WA that is a $1500 truck

The Mitsubishi aint a bad tractor, but parts for them I hear are scarce and getting hard to find...if it has a loader or other attatchments you'd have to pay 4-5 grand for a small tractor like yours here (for one in working order thats not decrepid anyway)...tractor alone, about 3 grand, maybe 2500 ..

If someone offered me a small compact diesel ( 4x4 preferably) tractor with a loader,in trade for my pickup or Suburban ,I think I'd go for it in a heartbeat..--a tractor can plow a driveway just as well as a truck, doesn't need plates, insurance, and inspection stickers, plus it'll be of much more use around the yard, where my trucks cant fit,and do things they cant do...I could always find another old GM truck a lot cheaper than a tractor here...and tractors sell easier than old trucks too!..

I love my little tractor, but rarely use it, as we don't have much property, but I really don't want to get rid of it, my Dad bought anout 8 or 9 years ago, and sat for about 6, until last August, when we moved, and I decided to mess with it, and it started up with nothing more than some fresh diesel and a battery.

We had a loader for it, I never got around to installling it though, because the tractor was still buried in my garage, and it eventually got stolen (people steal the damndest stuff around where I used to live, I lost a dually Dodge bed from a Cummins, It was still mounted on the truck too)

I also had the belly mower, but it got mistakenly scrapped when we moved.

I saw the ad for the 6.2 yesterday and called the guy, and he said that he really wants a small diesel tractor. See my situation?

Without the loader or the mower I would make that trade with out even hesitating.

I would do the trade, as you said rotted c/k go for a lot for some reason in ill and wis for some reason. I wish some days I would of did the trade offer I got a year ago for a clean k30 srw 6.2 4spd I kick myself everyday when I see the truck driving around town.

Like someone said here, think it was another thread, something a long the lines of cheaper trucks cost you more in the long run. :D

That's what happens with CL flakes. Buying or selling.

Might not need it. :D But really that's thing is waaaaaaaaaay over priced.

He is a little high , I'd say thats a 4500.00 truck all day long , when have you seen one that clean for less??

i'd much rather start with a clean stocker like that some **** box thats had the crap beat out of it but has "upgrades"

My 85 Jimmy was damn near mint. $1400. But I'll bet that was a once in a lifetime thing.
