I figure since it's a 1/2 ton 2wd, I won't be tempted to take it off road. It's going to be used for the vending machine business. I'll put a canopy on it and shelves and keep snacks and drinks stocked in the back of it.

It's an '83 C10 Silverado with a Goodwrench 350, Edelbrock carb, TH350, PW, PDL, factory Rallys, and new tires. Wasn't too bad for $500. It only took me about a year to buy it (kept putting it off).

One week ago I got rid of a '77 K5...

But then this truck kind of cancelled that out. This was last weeks $500 special. 1980 K20 3/4 ton 4x4 with a Goodwrench 350, SM465/205, 10-bolt/14-bolt.

The guy said it quit running and melted a battery clamp and they never could get it to start again and it sat for almost a year. I towed it home, put a battery in it, fiddled with the automatic steering colum it had in it and it cranked over fine. But it wouldn't fire. I tried a direct wire to the HEI from the battery and still no fire, so I changed the ignition module and it fired right up and I drove it around the neighborhood. Now it's half apart in the driveway donating it's parts to other projects that need them.

Just an FYI, I have a friend who runs vending machines and his truck gets broken into often. You may want to beef up the topper security to deter the munchie plagued sort. Nice score.

Yeah, theft had crossed my mind. I'd plan on parking it right next to the house in the driveway and I'd build some sort of good locking door on the back of it. It'll be one of the tall canopies- or camper shells however your region calls them- This particular one:

I'll have to bar the windows or board them over and make sure the rear door I build is theft proof.

Good score! Everytime you post a pic of your trucks now, I think of the pic of you as a kid with all your toys lined up... you should use that pic for an avatar since it so perfectly fits you. :D
