Got any cool tools lately?

They wanted to know why a 1/2" shank broke when the machine was turned on. No material had ever touched it. Was bought that morning.

I am sure they were thinking liability if it was a manufacturing flaw.

Ah ha... brand new tools exploding is not good. Ive seen quite a few bits stuck in the drywall, but usully when someone walked away from an automated table and the speed was too high, or ran out of coolant, or someone didn't use coolant on a project that shoulda

if it was new- then it was damaged in shipping? or major quality control issue?

Raised panel bit for a shaper table. Brand new out of a prefect box. Manufacturing flaw I am sure. They were asking if anyone was hurt and what damages there were to the equipment or end product. I literally fired it up in a soft start shaper table. Low RPM because of the size of the bit. Got to RPM and boom. A quick whistling noise then drywall poof. It was stuck in the wire and stucco of the outside wall.
