Got any cool tools lately?

I'm talking to the engine shop today. And if they say it'll be a while I'll probably do the Amazon route.

Why yes I do lol.
I may do that.
I see that HF has a 2000# one also. It's in stock about 3 miles from me, and the same price. Im going to look at theirs quick.
Only difference I see is theirs has 3 wheels when folded instead of 4 :dunno:

I was kind of hoping to have my engine torn down and ready for the block work by next monday. The jegs one was supposed to be here this week.
Your shipping time might be sooner then mine.

Plus I have noticed all those shipping times are always very generous.

I just looked em up. Amazon has a bunch of them all pretty much the same, similar pricing, and all estimated ship dates of the end of this month or beginning of Feb.

I ordered one of these from lowes and some belts/discs from empire abrasives (using a 10% off discount)

How much was that one?
Been wanting one for a while

Found one of them off craigs for 100 a few years ago.
Dayton brand, which is grainger house brand, but good enough. I would keep your eyes peeled. @shady, wen has factory reconditioned stuff at there place in Elgin.
About 45 minutes east of Rockford.

 wonder if there's still a 'Cadillac Ranch' near Elgin... ? Lol

I just left HF. Bought their 2000# engine stand instead. Cancelled the Jegs order.

While I was there I seen they have their sander on sale for $75 lol.... ALMOST walked out with that too.

I had actually planned on buying that one but they were back ordered at all my local HF's and when i looked on their website to ship direct to my house, the shipping was as much as the sander.

All set up. Kind of surprised me that it does have 4 wheels when folded like the Jegs one. The pic in their add only had 3.

First thing I did was modify the handle.
I put the the jack handle from my spare engine hoist ram in it. More leverage.

Then drilled the hole all the way through the bottom for the rotation stop pin. I'll pick up a long 1/2" D handle pin for it today. That'll make it more stable.

Should have an engine hanging on it today.

1/2 bolt .

And engine hoists i think work better with shorter handles . Both mine have shorts and longs but longs hardly ever get used . So you did a 2 for 1 mod by swapping handles .

My last one was a pain in the D'ck trying to rotate the engine. I ended up using that handle with it too. Now that it's a spare, I figured I'd just throw it on here.

I've had these for awhile, but today really impressed me.

Knipex cobra head pliers.

I was pulling leaf spring center bolts and my vice grips weren't able the hold the head, but the cobra head did it with no trouble.
