Got any cool tools lately?

Decided to try a couple LED work lights.
Bought a couple that go on a stand and really throw out the light, adjustable in many directions and 40-72” height, and then I got these that use your typical Milwaukee and Dewalt batteries. Pretty handy, with a high and low setting and an adjustable light angle . Only improvement I would like is a magnetic base, but it sits on the battery pack.

I have an older air driven finger sander from HF. You are right, it stalls too easily. It's still super handy in certain situations, but it sucks not being able to put much pressure on it.

Get an original dynabrade dyna file, one of the smoothest air tools I own. Plenty powerful.

If I was going electric I would get one of the M12 units, they sell them in 12" or 18".

One of the more enjoyable or fun tools for sure. I have a bunch of old downed trees and rotted stumps that need to be cleared and I was pleasantly surprised how well the grappler handled the larger stumps. This was the biggest stump and I maxed out the lifting capacity without any ballast on the rear end.

Well, the scanner works with my PC. I did a scan of a manifold as a test with zero markers and I scanned top and bottom and then combined them together using features into one and then meshed it. Everything worked fine. I used a resolution of .2 mm, about .008". I can go down to half that I believe, but for a chassis I won't need that level of resolution I can turn it down and use less data. I watched my RAM, CPU, and GPU during the process and all was working normally. Actually the CPU was working the most when creating the "point cloud" etc, I think I should be OK, time will tell. I think if you only had a normal integrated GPU, and not a dedicated GPU, it wouldn't work well. I was using at times about 2/3 of the GPU capability.

I could of spent more time to gather more scans and put them in, and clean it up better, but the test was good enough for now. I can use this data to select my nitrous nozzle angles but its cheaper and faster to just print out a 2D nozzle on paper or cut one with the laser out of thin plastic and put that in the actual intake. That's what I have been doing thus far. This does expand my capability. You can even see the texture and finish, and this was the faster angled lines, not the more precise parallel lines.

The GPU mostly works when rendering, that's where integrated GPU really sucks.

These are noth’n big or impressive but they are my newest acquisitions to get a correct dimension on my pushrods since I switched to a roller cam-n-lifter setup.

FOLKENHEATH got me setup with the adjustable rods and checker springs - great guy to deal with !

I have the adjustable rods, but haven't gotten checker springs yet.
I'll be doing that on my next engine build.

Bought a Harbor fright 20 ton press. In years past, Ive always been able to take stuff to work and use the machine shop press. Not since I retired though. I can see a use for this thing coming up with the Vette rebuild and eventually the dually.
Typical Chinesium quality. 185# At least all the bolt holes line up. Actually it went together real well. Haven’t used it yet other than making sure the jack worked.
On sale for $209, $60 off. Came with the 1” thick press plates too.

I have the 12 ton. Only because the wife bought it for me used for like $80.
Been wanting to step up to the 20 and hit up some of the places that make chit for it.

I have the same one. I upgraded to a air powered jack with a foot pedal which is pretty handy.
There are people that sell kits to strengthen them too, but I've never done it.

I have been using the same one for 20+ years.
I recently replaced the jack with the air over hydraulic but not going to spend any more money for foot pedal or other fancy upgrades. It's done me well but the jack started leaking so I upgraded that
