damn! that looks like a nasty cut! be careful out there everyone.

It wasn't too bad. Just scared me I know what a 4 1/2 cut off wheel can do I thought I slit my throat. Only needed 5 stitches.

You got really lucky there man! That could have been bad. Glad you're ok:waytogo:

Thats for sure. A little farther down, and we might be looking at pics of him in a box..........

Last week I was in my wheel wells grinding on something and I was thinking " if this blade breaks I'm dead."

...so I put on the welding mask to finish the cut.

I have some clear face shields at work, I'll grab one for you.

fock, now I'm light headed...

I had a similar incident...took a clamped on lid off a tank at work...removed the clamp, standing to the side of the sightglass into the tank, then felt no pressure while removing the glass...it was stuck to the gasket and the gasket to the tank...I pulled on it releasing the bond that it had made, and the glass hit me in the same spot under the chin, I swear the back of my head hit the middle of my back when it happened...I was stunned, and looked down at my shirt to see the blood starting to pour out of me, thought I got an artery or something, close but not quite...it peeled back my skin and underlying tissue and whatever else is in there pretty good...3 layers of stitches; 4 in deep, 6 into a layer of skin, and 8 more to close it up....felt like I was in a heavyweight fight with Tyson.

But my new scar is bigger then your new scar lol!. :waytogo:

you win Rob...Wish you weren't in the running though.

Thanks everyone. Yea I do consider my self lucky coulda be alot worse

Paul: thanks I grabbed a face shield from work today.

Rob: my flesh wounds are nothing compared to what your going through and wish you the best. And as it was said early chicks dig scars.

Glad your here to post about it, but since noone else asked,

Were you doing anything to damage the wheel?

Maybe was it damaged before you turned it on?

What type of disc was it?

Sorry to.ask, but your response could keep others from getting injured
