got my body bushing's in today!

That's strange. Never heard of a 1.5" lift from the usual body lift manufacturers. No matter, I guess. Just a new one on me.

Ya im going to measure all of them ,i think they might have pieced it together since it is a 77 chassy and an 82 body.

well i found something interesting yesterday while looking and spraying the body mounting positions one isn't there.
the second pic is position 3 both the driver and passenger side are not there.

my question is how should i go about fixing this?Order a cup to mount the bushing in and weld it in place? and where to get the cup at?

Appears the previous owner removed it in order to mount the step bars. He must have really wanted those bars. I can see the outline where the body mount used to be. There's a chance that you can just replace the ones you have and it'll all be ok. There's a better chance that missing 2 body mounts is increasing the wear on your other mounts. I'd replace them. Junkyard would be easiest, but they could be fabbed up also. You'll also have to get spacers cut to match your body lift if you choose to keep it.

I had a local mechanic put those on and there wasn't a busing there. I don't think the guy who put it together put it on.i have to go threw some old pics and see.
I got some 1/4" plate and ill make me something to hold the bushings in place.maybe an L shape with gussets for strength.

I did measure all the lift pucks and they all measure 1" 1/2 all the way around.

In your very first pic, the step bar mount is exactly where the body mount bracket is supposed to be riveted to the frame. You sure it wasn't removed to put the steps there? Either way, the problem now is that they still have to be removed/modified to replace or fab that bracket. The step bar mount and the body mount bracket are trying to exist in the same place.

EDIT: Your best bet is to find someone that's parting one out or a junkyard. Your going to need the bracket, and the cups. Not sure if either are available in the aftermarket.

I was going to make it to have both it wont be stock but it should do the job.
I have a buddy down the street from me that is a mechanical engineer who is
going to help me. he has a mini machine shop in his back yard.

I'm thinking it's how the PO put a newer tub onto the older frame, as they're different around the middle body mounts somewhere. (I know that's vague, but I don't have an 81+ truck handy to compare to my old-style.)

Kert might be able to cut you up a pair of 1-1/2in body pucks. If not you could always buy some 1in ones from him and some fender washers

My lower washers for my 85 k5 were shot. Wasnt gonna pay $70+ from LMC for 6 washers.

So i made some.

1.5" sch 40 PIPE was a perfect fit. Cut 6 1/2" long pieces of the pipe, and made some big washers out of 11 ga steel.

well the reason that the body pucks were inch and a half is they were cut that way.(poorly i might ad)that was a pita when one of the body bolts spun, but i got it done and no more bouncing out of gear. ya!

Could have gone to a salvage or scrap yard and pull those bottom washers off of just about any GM vehicle from around 1980 on up. Cars and trucks share almost identical steel parts and rubber mounts between them.

well they are all in and that was no fun, here is what the old ones looked like after they where pried out.
