Got my D60 cleaned and painted..

If the picture in my head is correct, MJ is correct in saying the dodge has a higher tie rod mount.....? Are they both tapered for the tie rod on the same side (top vs bottom)>

Are those stainless bolts as well, or just new? I have a fetish for stainless or zinc coated (as you could see in my frame pics and misc pics of my truck), and just wondering if anyone else has caught on.

A little antiseize and I've never had an issue of rusting/galling/etc. Plus they clean up well and look good for years (I know I'm vain, but practical).

Anyways, regardless of what you used, it looks sweet (even if it is going to be battle scarred) /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

Looks real nice Rene, for now LOL
I painted my rear axle with gloss black engine paint and it looked great until I left the pavement.
It prolly would have looked better if I had let it dry for a few more hrs before I hit the beach and gave it that sand paper look LOL

That's to make it easier to hold when doing trail repairs /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

Hopefully you won't have to do any on a 14FF /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Those are plated bolts...I painted the bolt heads grey /forums/images/icons/blush.gif /forums/images/icons/blush.gif

I may swap to SS bolts before it's finally under the truck. I wanted SS socket head cap screws but they are proving to be hard to find...

Thanks Chris! There is one about 5 miles from me according to your link...

Nice job. That should look cool on the truck. You could try McMaster Carr for bolts and the like & usaully ship out UPS the same day (if you got em in Canada). If you don't have the gear oil in the 14 bolt yet, you may want to consider beefing up the cover now (or don't back up in the rocks).

14 bolt is like a dog, leaves its mark everywhere. Enjoy.

My old 14 has plenty of rock scars and the cover is partially ripped/torn along the lower edge. Rock Rings are not just for looks!!/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

/forums/images/icons/grin.gif It's all good...I've been happily dragging my bolt over the rocks for the last 5 years. It was less expensive to buy another one with the gears and locker i wanted than to swap ratios etc in the one I had.
