My EZ ride 3" front springs arrived (almost) yesterday.

I say almost because after being lost at Fedex they finally found them in the terminal and I drove 2 hours to retrieve them myself before the cold weather rolls in. It is supposed to be 65 today and 15 on Tuesday when they wanted to deliver.

All that I got was 2 springs and what is left of the box. They broke the box and lost all the contents except the springs, well they lost the springs too for 2 days too.:dunno:

I took off the Rough Country springs and sold them so I can't reference their orientation any more.

Anyway, I am guessing that the large eye goes in front and the small one at the rear.

Is this correct?

They’re stock length? They will only go one way based on the center pin offset.

I owe you an apology. I forgot that my ORDs were ordered with an offset toward the front.

The bolt sleeves are different. The large bushing and large sleeve go up front, and the little bushings and sleeves go rear.

OK next problem. I did not get any of the hardware and the old bolts will not fit the rear sleeves. My bolts are 1/2" and they are not fitting.

Smaller bolts would have even more slop in the spring shackles, what should I do?

stock rear is 7/16" bolts at the shackles .

upgraded shackles tend to jump up to 1/2" bolts for better strength .

most lift kits = reuse old hardware . they tend not to come with bolts for the springs .

I took the rough country springs off and kept those bolts, they are 1/2"

The 1/2" bolts are sloppy in the shackles and dropping to 7/16 would be even worse.

I can either try to find some 7/16 bolts or drill out the bushings. It is warm today with winter coming in 2 days

hate to say it buddy but pics help 1,000x better on the internet .

maybe someone had them butchered up before and you didnt know it .

so you got bushings / tubes in the spring eye's ? then the 1/2" bolt would go threw for the front .

next shackle end will be bushings / tubes / side plates / shackles =then STOCK 7/16 bolt size or upgrade common size 1/2"

hope this helps . we will keep trying . :waytogo:

It is a 1989

The springs came with the polyurethane/rubber whatever bushings with steel inserts. The fronts fit no trouble but the rears are not going through the steel sleeve as is

I kind of remember my '88 Burb having 1/2" bolts at the rear too. I specifically remember having to change the rear bushings. I still have the truck, but can't go look at it right now.

88ish-91 had larger shackle bolts. You need to order the bushings and sleeves for your year.

What seller did you even get this stuff from?

i would be calling and getting a shipping refund for the mix up and all the time wasted . then if you told them the correct year and they sent the wrong bushings thats on them to fix that .

When it rains it pours!

The 5/8 bolts on the right side of my D60 axle are too long and are bottoming out because these springs have fewer leaves than the old ones.

I need a couple that are 2.25-2.5 max length. I can find 2" right down the street but am not sure that 2" will be long enough. What is everyone else using?

Studs? Where to get them?

some times i have used extra u-bolt THICK washers and also cut down the thread length if the threads wont bottom out .

Our weather......

High 63 low 20 tomorrow!

At least we got it off the jack stands and onto tires
