the end of this month i'm getting started on chopping off my cab, going full convertable and putting in a full family cage, welding the cage to the top of the windshield frame.. i currently have the stock front and rear cloth seats and it rains like a mo fo in seattle.. so i am planning on keeping the stock doors on and bungee'ing a tarp on during the rainy days.. then putting the tube doors on and removing the tarp for the sunny days.. the interior is completely gutted but i'd like to keep somewhat of a seal around the stock doors with the cage tube.. i'm going 2.0 hrew.. do you guys have thoughts or pics?

got a 3yr old and one on the way.. i mostly want pics of a full cage with the cab chopped to give me some ideas...

You want convertable blazer pics?

Mine is a 75 so it is stock convertable. I can't help you on cutting the roof, but I can share some cage pics.

You might also search for trustyk5's pics/posts. Iirc, Rene's was a later model K5 that he cut the lid off and graphed on a windshield frame from a 73-75.

thanks boz.. that's what i'm looking for.. just some cage designs to figure out what i want mine to look like.. i like how you dropped the back of the cage back short of the bed.. i may go all the way but incase i ever want to shorten the tub that may be a good idea..

Well unless you are putting in 3rd row seating,it is most likely a waste of tube. That was my thinking anyhow.

I had blazers until my family grew, now I'm committed to 4 door for life. The red blazer is perfect. The full convertible too is Bdass

do you have close up pics of where the tube meets the windshield frame chevysmith? do you put any cover on it in the rain or keep it open? looks by your transparent seat covers that you keep it topless year round.. any issues with the dash getting wet?

These are the best pics I have right now of the windshield frame. I can get more if needed. As for rain, I sported my camo tarp last trip and didn't like it. I could't see crap and got some good damage. Soft top will be on soon. I have been caught in the rain before with out a cover and the dash stayed pretty dry. As for the seat covers(plastic) I keep them on so the dame cats dont go pissin on em and throw them on over night when the dew or rain is heavy on a trip. Nothin like having a wet saggy ass on a trip.:D
