Got sand tires?

1 Brake Drum Lathe & sharp tool.
1 Can of cutting oil.
1 Angle grinder.
A Tig and a Mig welder... :wink1:

Two rims turn into one. One inner and one outer bead get cut off.. and one center gets cut out. ;)

Burt, I guess I'll have to run you up the hill without these paddles so it can be fair.... a close even race.
Then see what a difference they'll make. :wink1: If you were 8 lug and could clear 38's i'd rent em... er loan em to you also.

Badass man!! I would love to see a video of your truck playing in the sand!

RB ~
Would be a cool test to run both sets of tires...eaither way yer gonna get spanked by my BBC :p: :haha:
Is May here yet:rolleyes:
YYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABBC!

Ya know.....

It's funny how much "weight" and gearing has to do w/ climbing sand hills....

Back in the 90's, I used to run a 2100 lb gutted 67 Cj5 w/ a 7000 rpm 231 Buick. I estimated that it made 275 hp. Anyway.... HANDS DOWN, this little Jeep would go faster up the big hills than my 3000 lb, 454 powered Funbuggy....!

This is ultimately why I'm rebuilding it w/ an Atlas instead of Dubbler, LS1 instead of BigBlock, and D30 front instead of D44. .... prolly next years project...!

Ya the lighter rigs do much better in the sand..
DogMan (RB's dad) has a SBC powered cj5 w/paddels and low to the ground...that jeep halls ass for sure
RB & I are a perrty close match...he has a 14FF/D60 w/SBC and I have D60/D44 w/BBC.... So the weight should be preety close I am guessing...although I still maybe heavier with all the steel mounted to mine??
Time will tell:D

Ryan...After watching that video, you need to ditch those MTR's. What a piece of crap tire...Mud terrain? hahaha!:haha: :haha:

MTR = minimum traction radial

Looking good Ryan.:waytogo: Hopefully I’m going to get my blazer running by Memorial Day. I have been working on it off and on since August, but I almost got it running. I just need to finish some small stuff.

Yep, future father-in-law has 3 sets for his racer ...however I think my girlfriend has prety much laid claim to it (she is a hp junky) :D. The large scoops are garenteed to handle 2000hp.

It has a built big block running a blower and alcahol injection; never had it dinoed. Shiftlight comes on at 7000rpm, rev limiter comes on just above 7500rpm. It makes a hole lot of noise and gets up & goes real fast. Even have a set of wrinkle wall street slicks for it :D

Thanks my Chevyin Bros. That WAS a vacant weekend, not any more; looks like a lot of fun. Will the local CK5ers party all three days or any one particular day, or yes & yes? I think I even still have the Ranger's handout.
Meanwhile, have you guys been following "Pacific Region/Santa Barbara/Goleta Guys???" We're going to Miller Jeep, or maybe it should be called "CK5 Miller Time" on March 18. Check in.
