Warning: Long Vent
Ok here is my screwed over story. Last year I bought an aparently almost rust free '89 K5 from a guy I randomly bumped into in a parking lot (I saw his 4-Sale sign). Of course it was dusk and I am an idiot and too trusting, etc. etc. A quick look showed just a little rust on one door and one inner fender. A quick test drive didn't show any problems. He told me his buddy was probably going to buy it the next day if I didn't make an offer.
I had been looking for an injected K5 for a while, and although I'm usually not impulsive I offered him $300 below his asking price. The next day after I get it home, I start pulling back the carpet and what do I see? My driveway.
It turns out he had siliconed light gage aluminum painted flat black over all of the rusted out underbody. He did the wheel wells, inner rockers, tail pan, and underbody - looks rust free at a quick glance, but on closer inspection it is toast. The seats were even bolted to some red (the truck is grey) sheet metal from another vehicle to keep them from moving around due to all the flexing of the rusted out floor.
With all the work he did, he could have almost fixed it right. Public excecutions are too good for people like that.

That and I don't have to hold my breath or worry about suddenly Flinstoning while driving it.
Offer your services to help him with his swap, but remember to make sure nothing is loose or over-tightened.
