Got the first phase of the cage done.

I LIKE!

Hmmmmmm I need to talk my wife into letting me get a Jd2 and a drill press!

Watson do that?

Steve

Can you take a pic of where the cage goes through the dash? I assume you ran it through the speaker holes? Also, did you have to do any mods to the under dash components, e-brake pedal, wiring, etc to get the cage to run through the dash and fit properly?

Thank you sir
Ross

It looks well braced in all directions except side to side. Are you going to X or Y brace the B hoop?

I was going to do an x-brace but decided not to for now anyway, I could always add to it, because I have a 2 year old to get back to the rear seat and it makes it a real pain, the side is braced real well and tied into the frame with bushings, you will see what I mean when I get it into the light for a better pic. I still have phase 2 of this cage to go yet also. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Sure, I will get better pics after the painters have gone. The only thing I lost twas the e-brake pedal so will have to move that somewhere.

Do tell... inquiring minds want to know! /forums/images/graemlins/ears.gif

Just wanted everything as strong as I could, but yet be useable without getting to over kill if thats possiable, the B piller is also bolted to the bed side at it's thickest point and tied into the frame as well.

No, a guy in Longmont by the name of Matt Nunn (Sidewinder fabrication) did the cage, he is a certified welding Inspector or something like that by day and on the side he has a shop and does local work/cages etc..

TOOO FREAKING SWEET !!!!

Looks great! I wish I could cut the top off of mine, but have a few years left to use her, "Bertha", as a daily driver.

How are you going to paint it without getting paint on
everything else?

Mike

Man, I thought you might weenie out on this somehow but I see you (and Matt) really stepped up!
That upper part looks kind of familiar /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Good job.

haha, yep I must admit that is where I got that top design from, I changed the rear around a little because I needed the width for the back seat head room and didn't want it to be exactly the same, but I do like that design.
I opted not to do the x-brace or diaginal on the B-piller at this time, need some more time to mull it over, it would be real close to the rear seat.
