*got them w/ pics* Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ

*Update*

Ok so a little update on the tires!

After having them on the truck for a little more than 2 months I can say that I am extremely pleased with them! :D So far they show basically no wear at all. Unfortuneately since the MTZ are slightly heaveir than the A/Ts I noticed my MPGs has dropped by about 1/2 gallon on average, but not that big of deal to me. Also I must say that the MTZ is the best wet weather tire I have driven. Even better than some street tires, I can easily plow through puddles and maintain total control and no hydroplaning that would normally happen with the A/Ts or any street tire I have driven. Also snow and ice traction is excelent too but unfortunately because of the very light winter season, I haven't had a chance to test them in deep snow. In dirt and mud, well what can I say all I need to do is hold a slow steady rpm and I can power through quite a bit of mucky situations.

Well basically the MTZ is one hell of a tire and I love it. I get compliments on them all the time and questions about how bad they must be on the road given their aggressive thread pattern and surprisingly they accually handle the road better than my A/Ts did.

I HIGHLY recomend these tires to anyone that DDs their trail rig...

Check out a nice poser shot I got from 2 weeks ago: (the most snow we have gotten all season )

Probablly too new to answwer this but: how are they on heavy trucks, like 3/4 and 1 ton diesels. I like them thinking about them for my Dodge....

Those tires aren't a very good choice for trucks like our Dodges, I've been told they wear fast underneith a diesel front end. I wouldn't bother with them.

I've got them on my Dodge. I'll let you know how they turn out.

*Update*

Ok A Little UPDATE for you guys as today I tested the MTZs out in the snow. Or well the snow was basically 5" or fluffy snow and on top of that was 3" of pure ice and sleet. But anyway I was a little dissapointed with the traction they offered given the VERY slippery conditions. I could hardly make it 1/2 way up a sandy hill that I always make it up. I got really good traction as soon as my tires dug through and hit the muddy bottom in some section. So this leads me to think that the crusty icy slippery snow on the ground wasn't the MTZ's strong point, but I think a lot of tires would have trouble gripping. Also the tires were still at street pressure of 35 psi so that might have hindered their performance a little bit.

the may issue of petersons did a test on 5 m t tires and they are scorin pretty good and tested on a k5 lol, says they have good floatation in the mud and clean out well, on the rocks the sidewall flex is good at 15 psi and would be better at 10 psi, they said they like em but had to spin and burn alot of rubber off to get thru a coulpe obstacles, highway was descent, smooth, not the quitest in the line up, i think ur gonna be happy with ur new mtz because i know u like the MUDDDDD hahaha,

Ya I just read that article. I think they are quieter than they say. Or maybe I just have a loud engine... :p:

I haven't had a chance to test any really sloppy mud yet, but I will! :D

And you are right, I love the tires with the exception of yesterday's mediocre performance.
