I havent been under it yet, but the 98 GP I just picked up for the gf with the 3800 v6 has always had a leak. Bad one but it never went below 1 qt low. Yesterday I put a qt in before a road trip, drove 2.5 miles to the gas station and got gas. when I came out of the station I noticed a 3.5'-4' long, 1' wide puddle of CLEAN oil still spreading out. The oil on the dip stick is NOT clean. valve cover gasket on the fill side isnt leaking that I can see so the oil had to go in the motor. so where could it come out before it gets mixed in with the other oil:dunno:

extra oring from last oil filter stuck on ?

oil sender unit like said ?

back valve cover gasket ?

and if the oil drains are pluged from years of sludge then clean oil will not drain in to the pan like it should and could be leaking out.

few variables. need to hose / degrease it good and start looking from there.

I got under it today and seen that it has oil down the back side of the motor. its just wet though, not running out. the odd thing I noticed was that

ITS NOT LOW:dunno: I am starting to believe that someone else poured oil allover their chit right before we pulled into the spot. I couldnt find any thing under there leaking. I wiped everything down and got under it while running and off. never seen a drip. I'm chocking it up to coincidence.

My grand prix has a leaky oil pan (among other things)...

depending on the year, they were prone to leaky intakes
