Greenie alert

Talk about reading comprehension... I think you are getting me confused with the other guy.

I think k20 is reffering to me as a tree hugging lover.
This started by me defending cheif77 about using bypasses or whatever you want to call them. In Michigan we don't have rated trails, would be nice but we don't. So a ORV route is meant to be traveled by stock s-10s to tractor tired monsters.

Now the whole idea of a good trail is that it be challenging, IMO anyway. Why would someone running 40s+ want to perform maintenance on a trail that he just walks thru in 2wd, it doesn't need it in his case. IF it is a road, MI requires it to be passable with a 2wd passenger vehicle in a non-errosive manner. So there is your maintenance by MI standards, boring, and if they can't maintain it how THEY want then they just close it.

And I will say this. There are many hunters that are getting tired of forest roads becoming rutted. Most of them have stock trucks with upto 285s. They are not "greenies" but when the subject of big trucks come up, the topic can go south in a hurry. Roads/trails that were passable 20yrs ago with 2wd trucks and tire chains are now passable only with 35"+ tires. But hey, I guess they need to build the trucks bigger, right?

Man, I've been called a lot of things......but never a "greenie" :yikes: !
