Grey ghost

Thanks Blue. You are correct it could have been swapped. If it was they did heck of a job, because it looks to be all original. I will check the numbers tomorrow. It was just too hot yesterday.

When you pull the air cleaner, can you see the part number on the injectors?

If it’s set up as a 5.7, the last 3 digits of the injector with be 206

I will take a look in the morning and verify. From what I have been researching, the easy way to make a little more power on the 305 is by changing the cam shaft, heads, and exhaust.

Here is the tailgate pan that needs to be replaced. Any pointers on removing this thing.

Bent, I am looking at the chart you posted earlier for the tbi unit. I have green and white wires. I am going to pull the clips off the injector to have a look at those numbers.

Be very careful. Those little plastic molex clips can be delicate because they’re old and gotten warm.

Hey thanks again Bent77, unfortunately the numbers on the injectors are 279, according to the chart you posted, if for a 305.

Those rarely get mismatched from my experience. But if you find out it is a 350, that would be something that needs changed

I’d say the probability of it being original are high

Ok, blue thanks for the link. I was contemplating on wether or not I should build a brace to connect the right and left sides of the truck when the pan was cut.

Yeah, the summer heat is no fun here in southern NC.
