Prepping the undercarriage for paint. More rust, ughh, enough.
Oh I had years of experience and I am tired of it.
I only do minor body work and mostly mechanical

So, I had no intention of getting this deep into this truck. But, the rust has forced my hand.

30 years of dirt and fluid build up on the transfer case. I will be dropping the transmission next. Work has slowed, due to the fact I am installing a bathroom in the barn and wiring and plumbing is consuming my time.

Everything on this truck was factory. The axle u joints were a pain. The shocks look original. At this point I am ready to start prepping the frame and underbody for coating.
Had to cut the ubolts and most suspension bolts out. Man, I hate rust weld.
Going to be replacing the springs. The main leaf on the right rear spring broke after I got the bolt out.
Looks like it was already mostly broken and it got finished off when you moved it.

Yeah Ice, I thought the same thing. So I plan on getting the Rough Country 2” lift with everything new. Just save some time. I also plan on adding 33” rubber so the lift will accommodate that.
