Grey Goose

Pretty sure those will cook

I usually try to run them down the back of the engine and forward. That one header pipe is super close to the starter
When the starter dies, get a mini - gear reduction starter

You might be able to separate the wires and get them to reach

Welcome to the fun work of retrofitting stuff. Where nothing ever really fits....

I guess ill be spending a lot more time on it tomorrow then but its weird there are 2 sets of wiress bundle individually and the alternator wire crosses out of one into the other

Should those starter wires be ok the way the are?

Glad to see theres progress being made on this project ! I didnt know tit from tat at one point either ( and still dont haha) , then one day your cutting out chunks of rust, welding shit back together, and doing axle swaps. It all comes together, just dont put the wrench down! And it takes time without 5 grand a month to blow on parts, youll love it more in the end this way anyway, just keep at it.

we are about a year in since i broke it started knowing nothing figured out how to take heads and up off and put back on and what not like water pumps and power steering I swapped the leaf springs did a few other things and now its down to the final stretch of wiring, fuel lines to the carb and, vacuum lines after this it should be running October 29th marked the one year point most of my time was spent getting a new engine and then schools been taking up a lot of the rest of it

Could you send me pics of how yours are run tmrw possibly?
Might not help

I have shortie headers that are above the starter, wires were lengthened to run low

The alternator is on a serpentine setup, so it’s on the driver side

Would it be better to run the wires under the starter rather than over it ?

Can i cut the wire and splice in more if I need 2

Because of me using a mini starter and different header I can do that, you probably can't

Typically try not to splice that stuff unless there's no other option
Then solder and heat shrink

Yeah I would get heat shield for your wires. Also a starter heat shield. I had a header setup like that back in high school and the starter would heat soak after driving a while and then not crank until it cooled down. You might experience the same issue.
