Grey Truck Build

Daily driver / fun off-roader
Getting a little flexy checking clearances with the 37s. Still have some rubbage, including the inside of the rear inner rear fender while tucked, still have a few inches of suspension travel left as well. Since I’m rubbing it either way it should be a non-issue in the future. Plus I’m going to redo my bump stop mounts in the near future.

I’m going to have to mod the factory inner fenders pretty heavily to get it to fit the 37s without rubbing. The mount on the cab for the inner fender is rubbing the edge of the tire while tiring. I suppose moving the axle forward about an inch will help this issue... I only worry about the steering angles. Something to look into in the future when I go into the front suspension for round 2.

Skunked, they are a 17x8.5 wide and have a 0mm offset. Tires are 37x12.50 Toyo M/T’s. They surprisingly run very true to size.

a little less backspace (add spacers) will help with some of the rubbing, especially the rear inner fender.

Yah I just bought the wheels and tires and I was planning on tubbing the fenders either way so I can cover my shock hoops. I suppose I could do spacers, but I don’t want the tires to stick out any further being conscious of the outer portion of the fender, I want the tires to tuck in there nicely. I really contemplated in boarding my shocks, but I know the shocks will perform better straight up and down like I have them now.

More backspace means the opposite of spacer.
The more the tires stick out the more they will swing into the wheel well

I meant to say the opposite. Some spacers in the rear won’t cause more rubbing. In the front it’s a trade off since it helps on the inside but will likely cause more rubbing on the wheel openings. 37’s aren’t too bad though.

The 37s really are not that bad. I don’t want to trim to much, I want to keep the exterior as stock as possible. What wheel spacers did you have in mind?

Depends how much you’re rubbing. Pretty common to run spacers anywhere from 1-2” thick. In the front you’ll need to trim unless you limit travel a lot or have a larger than average lift.

I have trimmed a little bit and they seem like they are going to fit in the front. I’m only worried about the inner fender. I don’t have the inners in right now but I’m getting frustrated not having them. I was thinking on making custom ones out of some sheet metal, but I’d rather keep it stock...

37’s should clear the inner fenders pretty easily. It was never an issue on my truck.

How much lift do clear easy?
I am trying to clear 37" with hopefully 3" lift and a zero rate and possibly 2" body lift if necessary but cutting heavily
