Griff's thread about nothing in particular.

I have, and apparently he (We'll call him T) went half and half with another mutual friend of ours (And him C), $225 from each of them, they each get one of the trucks.

T has the Scottsdale 4 speed pickup, and C has the 454 Silverado with the Utility bed.
T plans to give the pickup bed to C as trade for an old 12 GA Mossberg, and T is going to build a flatbed.

T really doesn't want to get rid of his, as he plans on it becoming his trailer tugger.

C on the other hand, already has a few projects, 8.1 powered 63 C20, rebuilding his frame off 94 K1500, SAS 07 Duramax, and his daily driver, a 78 K20 that is 9 different colors, and bunch of other stuff.

So I'll go over and offer him $500 for the truck, Doubling his money as I see it.

Putting price aside, would a CCLB fit your criteria? That's quite a tank compared to your K5, and not what you started out wanting.

I've wanted a crewcab square for a while, And in my mind, 4wd reg. cab, and 2wd Crew cab kind of equal out on the desirability scale.

And, assuming I can get one of the crewcabs for less than $1000, there'd be no reason for me to get rid of my Blazer.

I thought you had a surplus of trucks at the moment?

Well, I sold my green F250 last night, tore me up, but it wasn't doing any good sitting infront of my shed.

Decided to move the Dream Square build to the back burner, and focus on the 12 Valve Cummins.

What happened to clearing out the driveway and focusing on the Cummins? :dunno:

If you have more rigs than you can drive...they quickly become useless, IME.

I sold one, now I need to fill the empty space.

I payed for that gravel, might as well have a truck on it!

And, the Cummins is getting plenty of focus, I got some wheels a tires lined up for it, changed the oil and fuel filter to the tune of $108.
Found another fuel shutoff relay, and now I'm trying to find somebody to put a new windshield in it.

I'm not, really, this is just how I entertain myself, And should I end up bringing a truck home with me, I'm not complaining.

And if you think I'm on a mission, you should meet a certain friend of mine, (who has already been mentioned in this thread), I'll get calls from him every other day, wanting to go look at a truck.

He's bought and sold 6 just since January. Actually, now its 7, counting the C30.

We think he has an addiction.

I think you both are addicts, if you feel obligated to fill up every available space on your gravel. :deal:

I've tried that one, I never said he had a habit of bringing home good trucks.

The truck he's building right now is a 76 K10 that had no title, but it was quite a POS when he found it. Every single body panel had to be replaced, front clip, rad support, Cab, Bed, and 1/3 of the frame behind the cab.

Now its titled as a 79 K10, with an 87 C20 bed, and a junkyad pieced together front end thats part 73, 74, and 77. With 90 Suburban doors.
With a rebuilt 305 and now an SM465/208.

How it was when he picked it up. Unfortunately I don't have more recent picture yet.

Back to the Cummins now, Lets hear about fuel shutoff relays.

It wont pull up on its own, but If the key is on I can lift it manually and it will stay up, and If I turn the key off, it drops like it should.

I changed the relay, but it swapped it out with one I found behind the seat, with a receipt from the Dodge dealer from 2007.

I'm sure folks with experience with those units will chime in, but from a general electronics viewpoint, its usually low voltage that causes that.
Check the voltage at the unit, and don't forget the ground. You can have good positive voltage, but if its not grounded well, it will see low voltage.

Next thing. why would an NV4500 be excessively growley? It doesnt matter what gear its in, it growls just as loud as the engine. It seems to follow the wheel speed, but it goes away if I push the clutch in.

Theres no slop anywhere, I don't know how old the clutch is, but it feels like a brand new truck.

That could be the throw out bearing.
Does it do it while you ride the clutch but the tranny is still engaged?
