Grill Guards - LMC

Probably China where a lot of LMC's stuff comes from. It is for looks or for function.

LMC really lets me down with the fitment and quality of products. Aside from special things you cant get anywhere else, i wont buy from them anymore.

Check JCWhitney for the gaurd, they sell the same stuff

yea i second that, my floor pans and cab corners were stamped wrong and were kinda twisted. it was a let down for the price of them. i guess some of there stuff could be good tho

I just got my new tail pan from lmc yesterday. It is a lot thicker and stronger than I had expected..

That statement used to mean something 20 years ago
Since corporate america sold out MADE IN USA very little is made here, the items that are made here are are usually subpar to China made stuff. Really is sad:dunno: JCWhitney has the same guard but the mounting is different, it doesnt even mount to the bumper, it mounts below it:eek1: LMC hasn't let me down, JC Whitney has:dunno:.

I ordered some blinker sockets for the front sqaure lights behind the 85 grill. They don't fit, meant for a different year. I can't believe they try to pass some of this sh1t off on us. Fuk LMC for anything that matters.

I returned it, they didn't credit my CC for the return postage. I followed the directions, but they still didn't. Had to call and demand it. What a headache.

The statement still holds true today. LMC sells garbage. Simple. Plus they are real proud of their stuff too and the price reflects accordingly. Their window seal, didnt fit and were universally cut, the supposed NOS dash bezel, i got from them was peeling where the chrome goes around the openings, the tail light lens i ordered where so flimsy and thin they broke from UV exposure within a year. All in all LMC equals Lose More Cash for me. You will spend more in the long run than if you just went to a junkyard or ordered from someone else. Not to mention arent you from corona so Brothers is right down the street from you. At least if they sell you ****e you can go in there and personally ream them a new one FTF.

So besides LMC, can some post up other places to buy from for parts?

That would help a lot in my build, i cant afford to be wasting cash with LMC if this is the kind of crap they are trying to pull.

Or does anyone have and GOOD experiences to share with us?...

I had no issues with them, but I just bought body mounts and e brake cables.

There is also Brothers Trucks, and Classic Chevy Trucks. They seem to be ok.

How long ago did you buy your body mounts? I bought some from LMC and installed them about 3 years ago and the rubber is already cracking. Same with window seals.
They sell crap...

i have one on my truck they work great it u do alot of offroading and they look sweet allso

I have had both good and bad with LMC.

Their new Euro marker lights are badass. Good quality and look great. Other stuff like the chrome side molding is great quality, and even their overseas made brushed alum tailgate band seemed pretty good.

Their wheel well trim seems hit and miss, weather stripping, and their grille molding kit was total crap. Cheap plastic mounting pieces that just fall off the trim. The corner pieces aren't shaped formed at all for the curve of the fender.

I've read here that Classic parts is a great place to get stuff. I will find out personally as I will receive a hefty shipment of parts from them on Wednesday. One thing about CP is that they carry a lot of items that are NOS GM replacement parts, where LMC carries 98% aftermarket replacement parts.

How do you mount the brushed alum tailgate? Is that glued on or does it take bolts?

the one i had on my dually was bolted on with like 5 or 6 bolts, i believe if i remember, they are studs on the back of the panel that go through holes in the tailgate, then nuts on the inside of the tailgate.

yep.

With the K5 glass it's a bit more challenging. I rolled the window half way up and worked carefully.

get one off craigslist for a 1973 to 1987 pickup or to a 91 sub/blazer and youll pay WAYY less for it, im in seattle and they are averageing $40 for a nice (new condition) one here, it isnt like a mechanical part if you dont see rust, cracking or dents there aint a thing wring with it:waytogo:
