Grizzly portaband saw?? Worth the Money?

Nothing better then the Porter Cable Porta-band saw period.

Get a good one, the cheap china ones are junk. I have used both Milwaukee & Dewalt and they both are good. I personally have a Milwaukee.

before you buy, go take a look, and hold in your hands all the brands that are out there and then make your choice. I like the compact design of the Porter Cable.

I have the portaband Porter Cable, and every other Fitter/welder uses this model, or the Milwaukee. Grizzly stuff is good, and the price is less than 1/2 what I paid for the porter cable 10 years ago, but I expect the porter cable to last me another hundred years.

I have the Porter-Cable Variable speed saw and its one of the most used tool in my garage. I love it. I bought a Vertical/Horizontal band saw a while back so it does not get used as much, But when my band saw it burried at the back of the garage I just pull out my Porta-band.

I have a Porter Cable sazall. It is tuff as hell even after 7 years of daily abuse.

However, I have seen and used the full size Grizzly wood working equipment, ie bandsaws and they are good quality for imports. I believe the tools are from Tawian and not mainland China. If you notice, the Tawianese tools are finished better and seem to be of better quality. They are priced well too.

i just bought a grizzly wood lathe, planer and wood band saw. they are very good pieces. they make alot of heavy duty commercial equipment and i've since found out they have a very good reputation. i also bought a jet horiz/ vert. metal bandsaw from northern tools this summer for $300. came broken thanks to ups dropping it upside down, but northern and jet were quick to send out the new parts and it works good now

i have my dads hand me down milwaukee port-a-band, prolly old as me, its had the bull replaced once and its still running strong.
