GsxrMike's build thread...Frostbite 2011 Pictures are in!

Holy bump!

I was actually just thinking of this thing the other day.

Martin

LMAO! Yeah, I've been out for a while. Probably thinking of it because I commented on your traction bar thread about a week ago. I ordered brackets and bushings to build mine but ORD shorted me two bushing halves and a nut so I'm hosed until I get the rest. I'm going to have to redo my exhaust in order to install but that's ok, it needs to be redone anyways.

I was having some issues with it running right and found a bad injector. But then it still didn't seem right and I found the #8 cylinder wasn't firing. Long story short, I had spark, fuel, air, compression but no boom. Got frustrated and put it all back together thinking I was going to have to pull the heads and it runs great now. I'm thinking the intake valve seat got rusty from sitting out side and my leak down test with WD40 and compressed air cleaned it out. Either way, Frostbite at Kansas rocks park this Saturday. I've got a broken leaf spring (longest besides the main leaf), I hope she holds up for at least 5-6 hours of wheeling. It can fail at the end of the day, then I'll explain to my wife why I have to link it. :pimp:

Glad to see you bumped this. I almost did it for you a couple times.

Wish I could make it to Frostbite. As I mentioned to you, Mike (oakknight) will be there.

Have fun and take lots of pics!

Holy bump again!

Hey fellas, I'm back. Been breaking by back trying to get by blazer ready for frostbite again. I took transmission apart after last year and ending up giving it to a buddy of mine who said he'd have it back to me in two weeks. 11 months later he finally got it back to me. I've got it in, got new front seats that need to be installed, fluids that need changed, got new spark plug wires installed (raccoon cut the old ones off with a pair of klein side cutters according to my 9 year old son), should be ready soon. I lowered it down about 2-3" since last year it felt like it was going to roll over on the smallest obstacle. I shortened the shackles 1.5" and took off the 1" body lift and the ez inches on the front axle. Now if I could just remember how to post pics....

Shane, are you going to make it this year?

Hey Mike. Glad to see the blazer's still kicking. I doubt I'll make it. I'm still without a rig. I'll let you know if I'll be there.

Hope this doesn't turn into a regularly scheduled February thing.
