I found that if you're going to have trouble on the trail it works best to flop your rig. Then you can't get to your stuff anyway. Or it might all spill out on the ground making it easier to find what you need.

That's ok, I would rather take the time and look through it.

build tool box between the slider supports to the frame. so when you flop you can walk up and get the recovery gear w/o bending over

Actually I do want to build boxes in that area. There's a lot of open space there.
