Guess what's going into production about this time next year.

Hard to really get excited about it . Most of the gearhead people who would love it , couldn't afford it . It looks like 30,000 + to me :thumb:

If it was half the price at a year old and with a few miles on it ( like my Impala was , but unlikely with this car ) , I could own one .

Challenger wasn't a Chevy last time I looked , so its automatically not going to even be considered by this boy here . Not to say that Mopar products are not cool , my father has owned many a LA small block powered B-Body . And I do appreciate the older iron .

I wish to own a newer vehicle with rear wheel drive , and bucket seats , and a bowtie emblem , and this may be the only way to do it without buying a Corvette or a Tahoe .

yeah it's expensive. if i could ever afford one i'd buy one. my dad's stritcly chevy but he's still gonna buy the new challenger when it comes out. just likes it better.

just wait a few years and hope for a dip in sales, which will bring huge discounts. on the other hand, they may sell really well because someone who can't afford a $50k vette will jump on a $30k camaro without hesitation. sure, it's fun to say, "i have a vette," but the camaro will be nearly as fast and should handle well. and, with the camaro, you don't have to kick your buddy out when you pick up a chick or two :wink1:.

the one appearance change i'd make is the tail lights and headlights. they look squished, to me. but, i can overlook that because i love the rest. gm's version of retro is a little more realistic than some of the other companies. gm put some good styling from the old ones into the new, but remembered that they weren't just redoing an old car. ford and dodge both screwed up their "retro" cars, imo. challenger is pretty good, though, but charger, mustang, pt freaking cruiser...no thanks. and the general needs a slap on the wrist for the hhr. i actually like the ssr, especially top down.

If you want to predict pricing, look at the Mustang. The Camaro will have to be in the same ballpark to be competitive. That means base model V6 in the low 20's with the top performer optioned out into the mid-to-high 30's.

I'm thinking of getting one but I want to hold on to my GTO for a while. I won't have enough garage space to keep both though.

I really like it, but I'll have to see one in real life in order to make propper judgement on it. Just like the SSR it looks sweet in paper, but in real life I think it looks even sweeter!!

I never understood why some people buy the six cylinder cars , thats like dating a woman with no boobs

I do like the new mopars, but this bowtie emblem on my left calf makes me look really stupid when i pull into a parking lot and get out of anything thats not a chevy, lol. My dream has always been a vette, but this new camarwo might just be what i have to settle for.

looks cool, but way to spendy for me. I'd rather they produce the Volt. I like the new challenger... that car kicked ass back in the day and still does now.

I think car companies could make a boat load of cash by re-releasing various cars. Can you imagine if Ford made a 65' stang or something. Exactly like the original with respect to structure/sheetmetal... but with new engines (with emmissions crap). Me thinks they could sell a lot of them. Before computers and windtunnels took over the design of car exteriors... there was some seriously cool stuff out there.

too bad they do it wrong, usually.

-thunderbird ranged from boring to ghey.
-gto is a great performer, but i think it looks boring.
-mustang actually seems to be doing well...doesn't mean i like it.
-charger...don't get me started.
-malibu has nothing in common with the original. decent car, though, for what it is.
-vw beetle - original was goofy, but functional. new one is girly and has ridiculous electrical problems.

i pray i don't have to watch the barricuda, chevelle, or falcon go down the same way. i think playing the nostalgia card only works if the new version has enough in common with the original, and isn't a piece of junk.

i guess we'll never see another corvair, thanks to ralph nader. really wasn't a bad car once they changed the rear axle design.

one thing i find weird is that we're getting a new camaro, but where's the firebird? we need a 2009 trans am, complete with a screaming chicken on the hood.

i agree. i like the 4.3L in my pickup, but for one thing. it's reliable, gets the job done, gets decent mpg and propels me fast enough to get plenty of tickets. the car v6s aren't as good, IMO, and if i had an f-body, i'd have 8 cylinders pumping away.

The Chevelle did go down the same way , can't think of Malibu and not think Chevelle . My 70 Malibu IS my 70 Chevelle .
