Is it good to have an H pipe or other crossover pipe with headers? Or just run duels without any pipe?
Whats a good set of headers to run on my 89 K5?
Do I need to find some compatable with any sensors?

any help would be freakin awesome

An H or X pipe can make more power (or smooth it out). To find the ideal place to put it....spray some paint onto the exhaust pipes, run/drive the truck for a few minutes. Wherever the paint is burned off is where to place the crossover. Now this may not place it in the ideal spot in the chassis so a comprimise might need to be made.

What year K5 are you working on? TBI or carb? Trying to stay emission legal? Do a search, there are tons of threads about headers. But the main point is don't cheap out on quallity.

I have the H-pipe passing beneath the T-case tailshaft. I can't tell you if this is the best location or not, because I've never found another good place to fit it. I can disconnect the exhaust hangers and collectors and move the whole exhaust back enough to pull the T-case and tranny. It would be really cool to have a removable H-pipe.

You don't have to buy headers with O2 bungs, because they can be added to any header collector. I don't know if your rig has a heated sensor, but if not, it's probably a good time to move to one. The wiring is pretty straightforward.

Although it's not cheap to do, from dealing with the downpipes off of turbo's, when I do my exhaust on my k5 I will be using v-band connectors. Super easy to remove no gaskets to blow out.

Ive got an 89 with tbi 350,and dont have to worry about emissions.
I would love to get a removable H pipe if possible but if not then its just more work. As for the O2 sensor I would rather get headers already made for it but none of the manufacturers say whether or not they have it.
