H1 bead locks on a K5 who’s running them and how

You could, but plan on it ruining the tire. 2” spacers will still look very tucked under the fenders. Not sure if that’s the look you would want.

Terrible wheels if you are not using them to air down.

I agree. I'm planning to get rid of my H1 wheels at some point. There's nothing like 8psi on the sand dunes, but there are also other ways to get there. I haven't been below maybe 18psi for years, except for when they leak! To begin with, they're not the truest (or strongest) wheels, then the clamping can go off-center making the tire even less round. Even a PVC insert is adding quite a bit of weight. The giant o-ring isn't always re-usable and 2-piece wheels in general are more leak-prone than regular ones. You need a clean o-ring and maybe grease on it to seal, which can be hard if you open it up muddy or in blowing sand. If you use Equal or air-soft beads for balancing, it's almost impossible to avoid grit in the seal if you open it.

To be fair, mine are the 8-bolt version, which is probably the worst.

I replaced the orings in mine before I mounted brand new tires and airsoft BBs. The only leak I have had was a valve core. I stretched them out really good and kept them in place with super glue while I bolted them together. I would be careful running these military tires they are getting pretty old. And kinda suck really. Heavy and hard.
