h1 or h2 wheels with 42inch iroks..?

What's the point of having the run flat in the tire if you're gonna cut it down that low? Do you have to use it for the wheel to work? Sorry... newb to this stuff...

the part that you keep after cutting it is all that you need for the rim to be a double beadlock

my H1s are gonna be ~425-450 out the door...

You sure about that??
$131x4=$524
-$180 centers=$344
-$200 purchase price=$44

Now I know the rings and recentering cost more then $44:p:

bro, its $144:doah: somebody forgot their simple subtraction:haha: $344 - $200 = $144

hahaha woops.

Ok so $144.
Rock rings are around $120

So thats $24, I know it cost more then that to have them re-centered.

If not thats one heck of a deal.

Yes, I'm sure about it.

150.00 for 5 H1's
5 pressed centers @ 32.00 each, 160.00
Recentering 35.00 per wheel 175.00
rockrings and install 30.00 per wheel 150.00
Rebar rings for back, 4.00 per wheel. 20.00

150.00
160.00
175.00
150.00
20.00
--------
655 divided by 5 = 131.00

Anything else you need me to validate, or correct you about, Chris?

Like Cajun said, we're not after the "runflat" option with these wheels. They happen to be both runflat wheels and double beadlocks. The beadlocks are what we want. The runflat, when run with low air pressure (the reason for really needing BL's) would cause the tire to possibly contact the runflat, which could damage the tire. The BL's can't function without something in the runflats place. So, most cut them down to keep the BL feature, and prevent damage to the tire. Some elect to use something like PVC inserts, due to less work when breaking them down, or putting them together. But, places that sell them ready to go usually want around 40.00 an insert. So, for me, the cut down runflat is the way to go.

if you do want to use runflats the 12 bolt h1's have rubber runflats that are flat and smooth and wont cut a tire.
just another option.
i plan on recentering some h1's for my DD one of these days

where do I find centers for $32 each?

A friend of mine was working a trade for some rockwells he had, for some custom beadlocks from usa 6x6. Since he was dealing with them, he asked if he could get me a price break. That was it, 32.00 each for the centers. Not the best break.. but I wasn't going to complain. I was grateful that they were willing to do it. Even though it's not much, it still makes a little difference when you're buying 5.

they are a pain to get in and out of the tire IMO. you need a ratchet strap and spoons to get them in and a truck and light pole to get them out. but yeah

ya ive never used them but if i didnt cut any down id run the rubber ones.
cant you just unbolt them so they split in two and pull them out

lol no but with the magnesium ones you can

the rubber ones do not unbolt. I was an army mechanic for 10 years, trust the guy when he says it is a pain to get them in and out. If you have no runflat option on the rubber's, it would still be a pain. the 5 ton's that run 48" michelins use a beadlock only rubber insert and we would have to ratchet strap that biatch and lube the tire to get it to slip in using a 4-6' bar.

so what is this?
they came in the 12 bolt ones from what ive understood

hmm, interesting. Must have been a civilian only model, or one that got put into production in the last two years for the military if they use it.

it was the 12 bolt ones that had the radial good years. (37") i know a couple people running them and like them because the tire wont fold over itself on sidehills

our twelve bolters had a one piece rubber one that was a real pain to install. We also had a two piece rubber, but it was still to full circles. One piece was the run flat portion and one side of the bead lock, and the other was the second side of the bead lock. Much more hassle to install than the one piece rubbers.

Got the re-bar rings on the back of my H1's today. Luckly it went pretty fast, seeing as I started a bit later than I wanted. Now I just need to clean them up a bit and get them to the powder coater. :D
