I have a DRW dana 60/70 combo.

I found a deal on H2 rims, I know H1s are better but I got these for about half what an H1 costs.

My first question is what would be the outside of rim to outside of rim with H2 rims?

Would the extra 3" really matter if I had H1s?

And do you guys have any pics of DRW axles with H2 rims?

Thanks

The point of using h1 rims is that they have like 7" of backspacing. Your typical wheel aka an h2 is gonna have around 4". 3in wider on each side is a noticeable "jeeze my tires are really outside the fenders" difference.

And outside to outside is the wheel width FYI.

I was under the impression the backspacing on a H2 is 5.5", so only 3" total 1.5" per side.

Well ya dont say I didnt know that. Also gotta remember the h2 wheel is probably gonna be either 8 or 10in wide where I believe h1s are 7in. This also pushes the wheels out further.

i have a set of h2s...they are 8.5 wide with 5.5 backspacing and look perfect with a 12.50 tire.....heres my 37s...

My guess is that you will have A LOT more wear and tear on your kingpins, seals, bearings and everything else running h2 rims. Reason being all the weight of your truck is distributed on those 4 pieces of rubber. Having those pieces of rubber another 3-5 inches out on either side creates a tremendous amount of leverage and torque that is twisting the axles just sitting still, not to mention driving on the street and then the trails. Sure you will not have any immediate issues to deal with(maybe, maybe not), but the maintenance and upkeep is what you should be worried about, as well as the longevity of your front d60.

Stole this picture from another post, granted it's a SRW setup but a DRW axle is about 4" wider per side so just imagine the tires sticking out another 4". I think it would look pretty wide.
