I bought some H2's on went to put them on my crew cab and they won't fit all the way onto my front hubs. I read that they fit on GM hubs without issue. Do they have to be machined?

Went to Pirate after I posted here. A few have had to enlarge the holes, but most don't. I wonder why some hubs are larger on the GM d60. I know you have to on Dodge and Ford d60 hubs. I'm gonna change my last name to Murphy, I swear.

They are even a tight fit on the 10 bolt front diffs too, just so small of an undersized hole on the wheel, that pushing on by hand won't do it. The little bit of force applied using the lug nuts seats them just fine. Can be alittle tight getting off the first couple of times, but after they have been off a few times, they go on and off with no problems.

Most GM 60 hubs I've seen are more "tapered" from the locking hub down to the WMS. Gets thicker at the base in layman terms.

I've never seen a Dodge hub taper like the GM's do. Those are more straighter all the way down, same size at top and bottoms.

Fords I've seen the taper on the hubs but seemingly more common on the earlier axles. The newer stuff has hubs like the Dodges do where they're straight all the way down the bearing hub body.

Maybe that could explain why the H2's don't fit.

Mine are tapered. I even tried using a pair of 1/4" spacers and they still wouldn't seat. I'm gonna try my die grinder on 'em.

*EDIT* I used an abrasive disc on 'em and they fit now. :waytogo:

Odd that they needed so much "massaging"- mine fit my 60 no problem. Well, glad you were able to get stuff worked out and run them okay bro! :waytogo:
