About 4 years ago there was a website on a fiberglass rear panel that bolted into the factory top bolt holes for a 76-87 blazer. you could buy this and it bolted right in. It was a cool idea and I saw one at bloomsburg one year and have a picture of it but it is only a side view. (you can see the seem though)that truck still comes to the show but it nolonger runs that part it has a full cage in it. If any one has one and wants to trade for a kayline soft top let me know.

Any info on this website would be great so I can figure this out. I hope that the company hasn't gone out of bussiness.

Several years ago there were a number of companies making half cabs... now that our trucks are obsolete most of them are gone...

iirc there was a guy in texas NFD that was selling them on ebay for awhile...

If you go through the tech section at one time I posted up a huge collection of 4wd parts suppliers... in that list there was a builder, in OK, I think that was making a really sano one... small time production...I checked and they were still in production...

Im not sure if we lost a bunch of stuff when ck5 changed over to new format... if so its gone forever... I didnt save it

I assume youve tried a google search

They made them..not anymore...

The "Glasstite" Truck Cap company used to sell "Half Cab Conversions"--I nearly bought one for my 72 K5 many moons ago--but the 600+ dollar price tab discouraged me..I googled their web site--I see no mention made of them anymore,at least online..

I might still have the brochure I sent for somewhere in the rubble in my room--but its probably just nostalgia now..I see enough guys asking about them here--some company should start making them again..but 75 up K5's are fairly easy to make your own out of plywood or an old back wall of a truck cab..probably not enough call for them to make it worth their while to go back into production now...

I got the cargo box from JC Whitney.

I bought the half cab from some guy at a swap meet 10 years ago for $100. he bought it from Glasstite for about $800. But it also had a fiberglass bed cover when he got it.
I have had it on 3 different K5's I love it and cannot part with it. Sorry. It replaced my Skyler soft half top.

Does any one have a link to the half cab conversion, i searched google under glasstite, but it brought up some page for campers..

half cab conv.

my truck is the one your talking about in bloomsburg i still have the half cab conv. in my garage its for sale

Im interested in buying it let me know what you think. By the way just to let you know ive had this 2001 bloomsburg pic on my wall of your truck. You've got a great truck. I take a picture every year.

I was looking for the owner of it this year but no one was around I figured you were probably walking around. I haul my junkers up every year normaly I have a 75 blazer with the top off but I was in the middle of painting it this year so I took my other blazer instead. Id even be interested in the rollbar and the cover if you still got it.

Let me know it would be greatly apreciated.

Just curious, why do people have cones in their back yard?

the cones are to avoid dog poo

I think that the company that makes them went out of bussiness but Im not quite sure.

I emailed glasstite but they haven't got back to me.

also to AM RUSSO Ive got that kayline rag top that is almost new if you want something to cover the roll cage in the rain.

let me know what you think
