hand tools rusting

I have a wooden shed (no garage), and stackable three tire tool box. My hand tools are getting surface rust on sockets, and wrenches. Any tips for how to prevent this?

I just wipe mine down w/ WD-40 when I'm finished using them. I also have the wooden shed problem.

wd40 and I bought some silica gel off of ebay to throw into each drawer.

yep that silica gell that comes in shipping boxes in the packets would help a bit.
