Has anyone added a digital tach in the clock opening?

why u want a lil tach down there? u need the C60 style tach with fuel gauge!!!!!
Love mine
Until earlier in this post I was unaware of the tack and fuel gauge combination. Prior to seeing that my goal was a small fuel gauge in lower left of cluster and large tach where my current fuel gauge is now and I have an empty hole bottom left of the cluster. Thanks for the info from all of you. My fuel gauge is not acting correctly either so replacing it is part of the plan.

i paid $200 for the entire cluster. it is a stock into our truck cluster. here is one with a 4k tach.. not enough but there is a company you can send it out to and they will make it higher...

mine is 5k tach and I peg it and it sticks now and then. needs to be calibrated as well.. so mine needs work...

google "c60 gauge cluster"

a lot of photobucket pics are broke... LOL

I've got a factory tach and it bounces around a lot and probably isn't the most reliable. 235.00 for the GM one is pretty high though.

Those are nice options, both the cluster swap and the GM- sports part. But I really only need simple and cheap. I really don't need a tach in that I'm running it close to redline all the the time. Just want to know what I'm turning at 60-70 mph when it's in 3rd vs OD locked or not. Once I know that, I probably wouldn't feel the need to reference it much.

Installing a large tach from LMC this weekend in place of the large Fuel gauge. Installing a small fuel gauge where clock "lower left side" opening is. Will let you know how it goes. The connections on the wiring harness seem to adapt to the change in fuel gauge location. There is a Pink Wire jumper in the harness that appears to work with and w/o Tach. I ordered a new Printed circuit board w/Tach as well. Will need that unless want to hard wire.

I'm interested in how that works and the part numbers you used. My tach is an aftermarket still sitting on a rag on top of the gauge cluster with the dash out still. The tach is not accurate and the dash needs to be rebuilt.

Any update on the tach install?

As usual got wrapped up on house stuff. Just got to working on this Holiday weekend. Had a bad temp gauge which I found one at a junk yard today. So all worked out and all gauges worked. Fuel Gauge in lower left hand corner worked without rewiring in my 1987 Blazer. However, I did get the Flex circuit from LMC for models with Gauges and with Tachometer. The Tach through LMC was $129, flex circuit was $59 and small fuel gauge was $50. So not a cheap route. But looks original with large Tach in place of the old Fuel Gauge. I have not yet figured how to post a pic but will soon. The part numbers depend on the year and style of gauge so would suggest getting an LMC catalog or looking online if interested. I don't want to throw out part numbers and be wrong for your rig.

Forgot to mention. I also had to get the cluster backing plate with gauges and with Tach. Another $60. And the Tach mounting bracket $13. But I did use the factory clear cover and black lens retainer. Just carefully cut out the white ring area in the lower left hand corner of the retainer. I needed the flex circuit and backing plate either way for my rig. So total for me was a plus $250 to add large Tach.

I haven't seen this posted before. If you really want to go all out with gauges, here's a way to spend money: http://newvintageusallc.mybigcommerce.com/73446-01/

Looks pretty cool. I notice they make a big deal of the fuel gauge being 0-90 ohms, but they don't mention the oil pressure or water temp, which *probably* means they aren't compatible with factory sensors. Not a huge deal, but that means a bit more complexity for trying to keep things like an electric choke or EFI wired properly.

Yeah, they're including oil and water sensors. Looks like standard aftermarket gauge senders.
