i wanna see what JR can do. right now it weighs 4260.i have whipped BB broncos and a 99 cherokee on the street.but i want to know what it will do.:laugh:this will be before the 14 and 44. it has a 12 bolt and 10 right now.anyhoo, has anyone done it?

I've thought about it before i swapped in my new engine last year. It would have been cool to see a before and after time slip. Oh well, the old engine gave up before i could do it.

Well never a bigarse truck, but...

I did run my 4x4 S10 on the dragstrip!

It had a TPI 305/700R4, 4.11 gears, and 30" tires. It was really capable off-road but still quick on the streets. With the rear locker and low gears it was deadly off the line.

Anyway, it ran mid-15's IIRC. I have videos of it on the dragstrip, smoking BFG mud tires in the bleech box!

It was a rusted out pos. Was always fun to some somebody at a stoplight with it.

Biggest drawbacks you'll have at the track are your tires and aerodynamics... If you want to see how fast it'll go, put smaller tires on it for the track, it'll make a huge difference, like a major gear change.

Not much you can do about the brickodynamics of a lifted K5 though.

If you do it, video it and post it!

that blows.i would just like to see the time. a guy my stepson races with does a 20 something.BUT he made it to the final's because he is consistant.can you imagine?? 20 + seconds...:haha:i'll prolly do 22:rolleyes:

:Di will have a vid,i promise.and you shoulda stayed outta the bleach box. thats fine for slicks, but having tread... they hold the liquid and make the tires break loose during the takeoff.;)there was a baddass vid of an s10 with a BB in it, floating around here.i had it saved but i got's a new computer so it's gone.:(i wanna see your vids bro...

Before it had lift or mud tires.

I bet with normal tires my truck might pull off 17 or 18 at areound 80mph

when i was at wyotech in my engine managment class, we had a chassis dyno that we used for emmisions, if we had no absents and had all our projects done, we could use it for the drag strip set up.

if i remember correctly i ran 25 sec at 70 mph.

i had a stock 86 with 33 inch tall tires, 350/sm465/208 with 410's
motor was gutless because of the problems and improper tuning for the altitutude, the estimated HP was 95, and the Torque was 145 :o

now with my new built motor, headers and true duals i would love to see my time now.

I raced a Duramax at Martin, barely beat him....12.85 that foker was haulin ass.

once i beat a mustang on the street, i recently put the engine in (stock out of a 95 van) the guys was on my right hand lane fuking around reving the engine so we both floored it and i beat him changing to his lane and leaving him behind in the traffic

since my dad got his new motor in his 72' i took it to the track once and it ran mid 13's but that was with out the msd hooked up so it had a little hesitation when you stand on it so i bet it would be better when its all put a new msd in it.

In high school I had a '78 K10 w/ 250 straight six 4spd 3.73's on 33's it ran a scorching 22.5 sec in the 1/8th.

i brought my 02 chevy 5.3 and was running mid 16's at somewhere in the upper 80mph.

I go to the drag strip all the time with my K5, but it's used to haul the trailer with my Camaro on it. Never been down the strip with the Blazer...yet. I bet with the 4.88's and a decent set of tires (maybe smaller then the 38's), I could do a halfway respectable time. The 465 would be my biggest downfall, not exactly the best strip trans.

I ran my '73 K5 with the 20-year-old, tired 350, 3.73's, 30x9.50 A/T's and no hardtop in the 1/4. Came out to a 17.84 at 74mph first try (and only try...I blew the engine lol) I'll see if I can't find the video, I think I kept it (horrible quality) Gave me a good excuse to drop in a good motor.:D
