A parts guy at a local speed shop told me that Edelbrock has stopped manufacturing the Q-Jet carburetor, yet they are still listed on Edelbrock's web site. Can anybody tell me if this is true?

better yet get the carb and take it to shop and say whats this and open up and show them the sale thay lost !!!!!!!

I was looking on either summit or jeg's website last night, and it had a listing for the #1910 (850cfm performer q-jet), but it said not available..and listed some other recommendations that were supposed to be close to it I guess? they had all the other edelbrock q-jets, as far as I know. I just took it to mean that they were currently out of stock, but...maybe they just stopped making this particular model? I hope not, that's what I was planning on running when I swap in the 454. but anyway, I'm pretty sure they haven't stopped making q-jets altogether.

found them here:

AJ-USA.com Performance Cars and Parts

but summit says they're no longer available through them...and I couldn't find any edelbrock q-jets listed at all on jegs. doesn't necessarily mean they don't carry them I guess, but they're not on the website anyway. I don't know what's up with all that...but they're all still on the edelbrock website, so I gotta assume they haven't stopped producing them yet.

just what i've heard

i have actually heard that you can only get rebuilt Q-jets now, i mean i don't know this for a fact but i know that the only ones we can get are rebuilt, but that's just what i've heard.

Edelbrock has never and still does not manufacture any carburators. They buy them from other companies, re-badge, and sell.
