Have a question on tranny's and rear ends

I am currently trying to rebuild my 84 GMC High Sierra, It has a 6in lift and i recently swapped the stock 305 with a 400 small block. what are some good tranny and rear end combonations that would go good with this ol truck to haul firewood in the hills or just cruisin down the highway???

With stock size tires I'd say TH400 and a 14 bolt rear with 3.73's or 4.10's. Won't get you the best gas mileage, but it's a strong combo that should last a long time behind that 400.

14BFF rear and a th400 like said above.
