having an off road bumper Line-Xed, yeah or neah?

I bedlined my bumpers. They where not already powdercoated though, I just had extra herculiner and my military bumpers where pretty banged up so I threw some on there. It gives awesome grip to step up and look into the engine compartment with but it hurts your hands a little. I think it will stand up good to weather and dents and gives the truck a rugged look. I don't know much about powdercoated parts so I can't compare the two.

Rob, I agree with Scott.. first thing I'd be doing is bitching at the powdercoater...

what's it thin, in some areas? what'd they charge you?

the reason i agree with Scott so much on this is, that finish is fubared now... don't matter if you paint over it, there is an exposed pc edge, and it WILL begin to peel at some point.. the only proper way to do it is to restrip it and redo it right..

I will take some close up pics of the problem areas and post them up asap. It's the Diamond plate surface mostly. Some of the welded seams too.

yeah, i'd imagine it's a "tougher" piece to pc.. sounds like it wasn't prepped right, or more likely sounds like it's a little thin in those areas.... easy enough to miss i suppose on a piece like that...

if the truck is up and running, i'd just drive over and show em...

I second the rattle can. I have 4x4 Iron bumpers front and back and received them as bare metal. I debated powder coating but went with the Rustoleum textured paint. It looks kind of like bedliner but after every trip I usually just spray over the scrapes and it looks like new. I have my entire interior Line-X'ed and in the summer it gets kind of soft and easy to scrape. I would be concerned that on hot days it would rub off easily. I also like being able to weld on it just by grinding a bit of the paint off where I need to add something without worrying about re-powder coating or spraying new liner on.

I'm picking up a 78 F150 from a neighbor this weekend and I plan on fabbing my own front bumper using my Blazer one as a template. This time I may go with the hammered paint but I will stick with the rattle can.
