got a new question.....any suggestion on where to order or what to do to get better heads....what is the next logical step for a stock 350.....any suggestion on any other upgrades for the head...

if you still want to go with stock cast iron you can find some stock 2.02 intake heads for better flow.i got mine off a friend who rebuilt his 76 corvette and out on edelbrocks on his.i traded him a 327 block for them and then rebuilt them.

I think the vortecs are the best bang for your buck.

Fill out your profile so we know what machine you have you are trying to make go.

If you are on a tight budget Vortec Heads are the ticket. You will need a different manifold and self aligning rockers. Other than that depending on what you have it should work.

I would try to find stock head with good casting.
For a 4x4 you want a small port with high velocity flowing.
