Looking a different head lights to put in the 85 blazer. Right now I am running just the regular head lights. Looking at some led options. Also saw the KC highlights gravity 46 daylighter and thought about mounting those into the hi beam spot. Any thoughts? curious to what other people are doing.

lots of good led headlight and tail light talk in the last year or so . here is my story . first post has link at top for the headlight story from before . https://ck5.com/forums/threads/l-e-...-headlights-to-j-w-speaker-headlights.335580/

i use to drive for a living so i spent BIG money on j.w. speaker units and LOVE them . they left my work truck and are now in my personal truck . i dont fell the need for any extra add-on lights now . unless i was to do a ton of off-roading .

if you want to try the cheeper option and get the closest to the j.w. speaker beam pattern and layout try and find this style . pic 1 . the other styles with just rows of led bulbs SUCK and just toss light out with no real regaurd to the pattern and cut off line so lots of people get blinded by the cheep lights when your coming at them .

As good as modern headlights are, particularly LED, I'd go with something modern for certain.

If you've driven a new vehicle with good headlights (you can tell by the cutoff) you know that the modern designs absolutely outperform the old stuff.

I've tested and tested while driving, high beams on my modern vehicle are nearly worthless for actually helping me drive. In my experience they increase the area that is lit, but do zero to increase the range, because the low beams do such an outstanding job.

I think as I've gotten older, my sight at night is worse of course, but technology has improved, and the old style lights are much more difficult to drive with.

Were I doing a one and done, I can see spending the money on a set of great lights.
