Hey guys I have a 74 blazer /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif that is slowly getting done. I am to the exhaust part right now and a friend gave me a set of headers. I have never installed headers so I don't now the pros and cons of the different fasteners and gaskets out there. I am thinking of going with a copper gasket and stage 8 locking header bolts? Tell me what you guys think and what you guys have seen work.

Percy's seal 4 good aluminum gaskets. They are the best, mine don't leak a bit.

before I bought my copper gaskets I thought that they were kind of pricey, not any more, well worth the money. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Summit and Jegs both have bolts for header applications as well as collectors that have a locking device that are impossible to loosen on there own. They are a bit high priced but they are the best!

I use exhaust manifold gaskets and cut the collector off and have the pipe welded directly to the headers, I never have any leaks.

i use Fel-Pro manifold gaskets on the flange of my headers, and Percy's dead soft aluminum gaskets on my collectors. never had problems with leaks.

I have had zero problems with mine since I did that. Well worth the extra $!
