any1 runnin the 160 dollar hooker comps or the 270 dollar thermal coated hedman headers from summit on ur rig? If so how did they fit and how good is this thermal coating on the hedmans. i know the hedmans have the 3/8 flange as opposed the the hookers 1/4 flange. whats everyones thought on these.

The Hedman headers are nice looking and well built pieces, the coating is nice and seems to hold up well. The problem with them though is they hang down to far and can actually hit the shackles. I'd recommend going with a mid length header like the 68608 from Hedman (295 from Summit, coated). They are for a Camaro but they fit very well.

I've never installed a set of Hookers in a 73-91 style burb so I can't say what they are like.

not sure which ones i have but mine are super close to the shackle. they hit so i had to bend em. glad you're asking around cause i'd like a new set myself

Ive got the heddman headers, The passenger side had to be BENT away from shackle, the driver side was perfect. They are okay headers, had them for 2-3 years now, no issues. the freakin header bolts come loose every couple months, 1/2 of them about ready to fall out. Not the headers fault, jus invest in some good bolts that will stay. Personally, id rather have cast manifolds back, they are easier to deal with and the gains werent worth it IMO.

Yeah if you just turn the shackle bolt around so the head is facing the headers youll be good on one side, I forget which. The other side will hit a little but not too much, bend them a little and itll fit fine. I have the full length hedmans also. Love em too (wont once I have to get it smogged :doah:) but for now their great
