I put a new starter in my 85 GMC Sierra and when i went to turn the head lights switch on nothing came on. The dome light did not either. Truck will run and drive and when off the battery read 12 volts.

I pulled the switch out and all connections are ok, checked the ground and it is fine, but at the light it doesnt read any kind of voltage. ALL fuses were checked and were ok.

Was thinkig it was a bad ground at first, but looking at the wiring diagram i can find any other one to check.
ANyone have this problem before? Anything else i could check??

THANKS!!

The switches go out. They are like $15, i'd get a new switch. Even if that doesnt' fix it, its probably time anyways......

Did you get all of the wires hooked back up correctly? If you left one of the wires off of the starter it might do what its doing.

my switch went out as well all in a heart beat, took the damn thing of and got me some togle switches and re wired the lights.
