If you can call this camping. But I will be in a campground leading to Kane Creek.
If I am camping it will be a Moab Rim, more then likely I will be in a hotel.

Is there a central location to try camp close to for the event?

Any recommendations on a good hotel/motel or cabins
Moab rim campground on the south end of town is where most are staying. Some in Canyon lands RV park. All of the cabins in those ones are reserved. Tent spots are usually still available. I'm too cheap to pay that much, so I am staying in a BLM rustic camp ground just west of town.
If you want an inexpensive motel, try The Riverside Inn. North end of town.

I know what you mean. There are just times when looking at things on a monitor is easier than the phone.
The blm sites out on Kane Creek are a ways out of town but it's a nice area. Kind of open with little shade though. There are several campgrounds with a variety of space types on the south end of town near Moab Rim camp park. Sounds like the KOA is a problem which sucks since it's an OK place on the south side of town too and have recently put in a bunch of improvements. Can't believe they would piss in offroadder's cheerios being in Moab but who knows.
Most hotels have decent trailer parking but the ones out of the center of town are typically the best for that.

We're finalizing everything and it looks like we will not be needing the Cottage we have reserved For Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights, and possibly a deluxe Cabin for Friday and Saturday nights. These are at Moab Rim.

I should get back to my roots that was a lot easier, but between ORD and myself we kind of overlapped without telling each other. it's all good.
