I just replaced my heater core today. I used the Tech right up off here as a guide and all went smooth other than one thing.In the write up and in the haynes manual it says to remove the wiring harness from the air box. I found what I think was this harness(Has a red wire coming out of the air box that looks to be spliced,sleeved with 1/4 inch hose and then wrapped in electrical tape),anyway the damn wire broke off at the air box. I don't see anything electrical in the air box. Anyone know what this wire is for? it is on the top/middle of the air box and right next to it on the back of the air box is one of three vacuum dash pots. the vehicle is a 1978 GMC jimmy 4x4 w/AC. Any help is greatly appreciated.
