heater motor wnt run...

Drivin the diesel home from work this morning at 6am and the heater stopped then on then off, i wiggled the switch and nope wont run, i checked all the connections and all good...Any special way to jumper it to see if the motor runs..? then ill know if its the switch or not. i cnt really mess with it alot i dont have much time , i was thinkin if its the switch to jumper it off of the battery to a toggle until sat when i have time...any help here would greatly be appreciated.....

pretty sure there is just one power wire going to that motor. I would put 12 volts onto that wire and see if it works .. that way you can eliminate it down to switch/wiring or bad motor

terminals were rusty, i hope that was it, jumpered it and it runs...ill wait till later to see what happens

In my old Suburban... sometimes it would 'stick'

I would just have to open the hood, give it a good smack with my hand, and off it would go.

That would be a brush issue, the same thing happens with starters. Occasionally you will get a starter that won't turn, and you can tap it with a hammer while the key is being turned and get it to start. When they get to that point, it is time to get another one.

I thought everybody with a GM starter carried a 2' long 2x4 to do that.

i changed the heater switch (6.51) at napa...the old one had burnt contacts..

i checked everything else and that was it, yea its a lil cold here for no heat or defroster..............what part of pa is bangor..?

im on the pa nj border between 80 and 78.definitely good to have defrost.im originally from alaska so this weather doesnt bother me.lolbut it does bother me when i cant see out my windshield.
