Hey guys, none of the parts places can help find what i need. When i installed my doubler the engine must of sat back and it broke the cap of my delco remy hei on the firewall. So i figured time to get a new msd hei and wires. The problem is the msd only has one set of wires going from the billet base to the cap. The delco remy has two sets of wires coming out of the base. One to the cap and one to my holley 4di projection. Does anybody know of a msd or a good hei that will work? Thanks in advance.

here's a pic of what im working with.

Ok so i figured out the one i have is for a computer controlled vehicle. Msd doesnt make a hei for that application. Anyone have any ideas on a good setup for this?

Did the old Delco HEI have a 4 pin module ?..or one for "EST" spark control with more pins ?..

here's some more pics. the second one shows the plug to the holley projection. I think im just stuck getting a davis computer controlled hei.

I couldn't find it new. only used on ebay. I want it reliable and running tip top. There was a lot of wear on the contacts of the cap and rotor also. before i inherited this project from my buddy thats on his last leg. she sat in the desert for 8 years. I've gone over almost everything maintenance wise and with a lot of upgrades. this is and tires are my last two things to do for now.

In my opinion your better off with a new cap, rotor an leaving it OEM. There is little or arguably nothing to gain by adding a MSD distributor to a relatively stock rig.

I was going to say I have a HEI distributor from an '86 305 I got out of a van, that had the "EST" spark computer and I think it has a 7 pin module,if that would work for you..

I would think any HEI distributor cap will fit and work on your Delco distributor..shouldn't be that hard to find one locally, even if they haven't used them since 1986 or so..

Awesome, im looking up right now if i have the 7 pin.

Thanks for the offer diesel4me. Im actually coming from the diesel world and have 11 sec cummins. Probally the reason for all my distributer confusion lol. For future people that might run into this post. The holley 4di is a 4 pin connector and the replacement distributer i used was a davis unified ignition (dui) 12600rd.
