Hey guys,
So here's the deal, I just replaced a shiz ton of stuff on my 72 blazer ( motor mounts, rear main seal, flexplate, front pump to the transmission, and resealed the transfer case). I have everything back together and the stupid thing won't start. When i lifted my motor to do the motor mounts I bumped the dizzy and it knocked the cap loose, I checked it out and it looks fine, no cracks or anything. Also, I can see fuel squirting through the carb, I have spark, I checked my timing with a timing light, made sure my firing order is correct and it still won't fire. it sounds like it's going to start but it never will, even with starting fluid... Any ideas of what else it could be?:dunno: I'm kinda stumped now... I know there's a lot of great expertise here so hopefully someone has experienced something like this before and knows what the answer is... I'm a diesel guy and am trying to remember/figure out all of this ignition crap. Thanks for your help in advance!

if you pulled the distributor out, it's possible it's back in 180* off. that's the only thing I can think of off the top of my head.

I didn't remove the distributor during the other repairs... I thought about that but it doesn't seem like I did anything to cause that. That's why I'm so confused... could a loose wire going to the cap cause the problem even though I'm getting spark and my timing light pulses when I crank it over? This one's definitely got me stumped...

fuel, air, spark. it's one of those 3. :) hopefully one of the more experienced guys can chime in soon.

There are 2 wires plugged into the cap(If I remember right)or maybe 1 plug thing check it. If you popped the cap off they may of come loose. Pull the coil wire and see if you have spark there.Check for spark 1st, then trace your wires. You've already confirmed fuel

Thanks for the input guys! i'm gonna check it out tomorrow and see if I can track down any electrical problems in the system. The PO did a nice a hack job of all of the wiring in this thing (surprise surprise!) so I'm sure i'll have to redo most of it piece by piece which sucks cause electrical shtuff is not my cup of tea.
