So the ? of the day so i have a 68 3/4 and 4x and the frame has been hacked any way will the rear dif work in a same era k5 i know that the rear out of newer trucks have dif spring withs

Well 73-87 1 tons will fit 67-72 1/2 tons without moving the perches , if its a leaf spung truck .

Which is funny because the 1/2 ton 73-87 trucks only accept 3/4 ton 14 bolts without moving the perches :thumb:

but there are variations in 14 bolts. there's the 14 bolt that does not require relocating the spring perches and will bolt directly into a 67-72, i think, but 69-72 for sure. there's a wider 14 that would need to have the spring perches relocated. and then there's the 14 bolt that's 3" wider out a van that'll match a front GM axle.

as far as I know:
73-?? (Guessing 91, but not entirely sure) rear 3/4T 14BFF requires the spring perches to be moved (just got a set of those for my '71)
Some 73-87(91?) 1-ton 14BFF rears have the same spring spacing as the 67-72 1/2 tons (including the K5) 4x4's
Some 67-72 1-tons got D60's instead of the eaton HO52/HO72, these *should* bolt right in from what I've heard
